Nurse Liaison

We have a new clinic opening in November in Proserpine that we need more legends to add to our team. At Greater Whitsunday Vet Services, we call them Vet liaisons. You are the driver of the business; you are so much more than just a nurse.

What is a Vet Liaison? A Vet Liaison is the vets side kick, there right-hand man. Every day you will be paired up with one vet, you will be put on an alternating roster that consists of, hospital/surgery section, consult section or diagnostic section. You are the advocate for pets large and small. You are to create an exceptional experience for the client and build an unforgettable relationship between the clinic and themselves. We have created a Vet liaison (VL) to bring customer service to a whole new level.

We are New

We are currently under construction in Proserpine, so you’ll feel very fresh walking through the doors of this job with new, well everything. Our Bowen clinic is only 3 years old. So safe to say we like being new and we want our vet applicants to feel as though they are part of building our organization from the ground up. We are hoping the clinic will be full steam ahead in November.

Expectations:

  • We need someone confident and outgoing who can build rapport and communicate with open questions
  • Attention to details and loves order and efficiency
  • Great presentation and the right attitude are vital.
  • Work un-supervised, can manage priorities, has basic computer skills down pat
  • Good sense of humour, an ability to work at a swift pace whilst not sacrificing attention to detail and never making our clients feel rushed.
  • Adaptable to growth and change
  • Active listening and comprehending skill when completing multiple jobs at once
  • Hands on with all diagnostic procedures needing to be performed
  • Confidently and accurately monitor and complete surgery procedures

Emergency Assistance

Our Vets and nurses are available for afterhours emergencies for our clients 7 days a week. If you believe your animal is having an emergency, please contact us on 07 4786 1010 and follow the prompts. Here you will reach a member of our nursing team to help triage the situation.

Remember Greater Whitsunday Vet Services is a small team and not only do our vets and nurses work during the day but then go on call when they are at home at night. Please be courteous and only call if there is a genuine emergency. We understand it is a stressful time but please be courteous to staff as no aggression, violence or abuse is tolerated at our clinic.
